COVID-19 Wastewater Surveillance
The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) collects, compiles, and analyzes wastewater data on SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, and produces this weekly report. Participating wastewater treatment plants provide wastewater samples, lab analyses are conducted at contracted laboratories, and data results are provided back to the county and state to guide pandemic response. This report includes detailed information on COVID-19 detection levels, trends, and population surveillance coverage.
